False alarm activation will happen sooner or later with all home alarm systems and there are a variety of reasons. Some examples:
Faulty sensor on window or door
Faulty tamper switch somewhere in system
Faulty external alarm bell
A common mistake is to assume the alarm control panel is at fault when usually the problem is a small one and lies somewhere else in the system. When you input the user code you should be given a message on the display which varies according to the make and model of alarm system you have.
A callout and full service from Gard will involve replacing or repairing the component which is at fault and checking the entire system to ensure it is working properly. At present we are charging 100 euro for this.
Please have the make and model and if possible make note of the error message on the display before calling to book in a service call.
